Club Info |
Hamburg English Pages is the hub for club, society and association websites. If you don't have a website, you can place a short summary and a logo/photo on this page. Alternatively, go to our Facebook Page and post the details there. Selected posts will be copied back here. If we do not copy your details here, you are welcome to request this option - subject to approval. No reason can be given for refusals
Non-profit making or low budget groups, clubs and associations, with English as the main language can be included on this page, free of charge, subject to approval. Extra website design, photography, servers and more can be arranged for a reasonable price
Hundreds of clubs and societies around the world already have websites, but many are only viewed by club members and a few friends. Unless they are professionally listed on a variety of major search engines, most community sites are hidden to the wider public and even to neighbouring groups with similar interests
Hamburg English Pages is making it easy for clubs and societies to visit each other's sites, join in with the activities and establish wider interest groups in the true spirit of the Internet and Hamburg community life
Hamburg English Pages can be found by most leading search machines. By having a link on this page, your club can be found too
If you would like to be part of Hamburg English Pages, simply send an Email, including details and a short summary of your activities in English. We will confirm your entry if accepted. Please allow a few days for an answer
Please appreciate that communication will be on an Email basis, or at meetings. Fax and Telephone communication will be kept to an absolute minimum. As space is limited, we would appreciate as little text as possible. Any text, graphics or photos must be your property, otherwise we will require permission of the owner to include it on this website. We need good quality graphics and photos in digital form. Our Email facilities can cope with large photos up to a total of 50MB.. Our VDSL facilities have a speed of 50000k (a normal modem only has 56k), so do not worry too much about the size and download time. Our FTP facilities can cope with larger sizes by special arrangment
Due to virus and abuse risk, please identify all Emails, formats and attachments in the subject line to avoid deletion - thank you. Most suspect Emails are deleted without being read by our Spam and Virus filter company before reaching our mailbox.
We are looking forward to seeing you all here on this page soon! Join the club! |

President: Honarary British Consul in Hamburg - please see website via The British Club Hamburg
www.british-club-hamburg.de
The British Club Hamburg, founded in 1948 by members of the British armed forces stationed in the city at that time as an automobile club, is one of the oldest clubs for English speakers in Hamburg. Membership is now made up primarily of British nationals living in and around Hamburg, as well as German nationals and other overseas nationals with strong British connections. Although most members are able to speak German, the 'working language' of the Club is English
An informal club evening is held once a month in central Hamburg from 7.30 pm onwards. Details of the venue and date are available from the Social Secretary or on the > website
The Club also organises social functions such as Sunday lunches and brunches; outings; visits to places or events with a "British" theme and sports events, which give members and their families a chance to meet in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. Highlights of the year are the Club's annual barbecue every summer and the Dinner Dance, which takes place every November
The Club is also represented at the charitable British Day event held in August, supervising the popular 'Welly Throwing Contest' for children and adults alike
The committee members are to be found here
You are welcome to contact any of the above for more information regarding the Club and its activities
The annual membership fee is € 30 per person (€ 50 for couples), with new members required to pay an additional initial joining fee of € 10. Members receive a Club badge; a members list; monthly newsletters; contact with Brits (and, for those with German partners, a chance to keep up their English!); a lively social events programme and reduced entrance fees for some Club functions
